Who are Apex Hotels?
Apex Hotels are a family-owned hotel company, headquartered in Edinburgh. They are featured in Best Companies’ top 50 employers list for engagement.
They have ten 4-star hotels located throughout the UK in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, London and Bath. All hotels are stylish and contemporary and offer its guests fantastic bars, restaurants, conference facilities and – in some locations – spas.

So, staff at all hotels get involved in fundraising challenges to support the charity. In 2020/2021 the chosen charities they've opted to fundraise in aid of are The Wildlife Trusts and Mental Health UK.
Staff Wellbeing:
Apex places huge importance on staff wellbeing. They have a wellbeing budget which dedicates resources to supporting staff with their mental, physical and financial wellbeing. They participate in the Best Companies survey every year and currently hold a 2-star accreditation. Moreover, the second highest standard of workplace engagement recognises Apex as an ‘outstanding’ place to work.
They also provide training. In 2018, they partnered up with MHScot to deliver Mental Health First Aid Training to staff and the public. Moreover, they partnered up with Mental Health charities SeeMee and SAMH to create improvement plans so that every single employee has stigma-free support available.
Helping the Environment:
Caring about the environment is important for the family-owned hotel company. That's why the are making efforts to reduce their carbon, energy, water, and waste footprint in line with Apex's ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’ initiative. Further, another crucial environmental worry is the amount of food that goes to waste in the hospitality industry. Therefore, Apex works with suppliers to minimise waste and increase recycling, including food waste management and the elimination of single-use plastics in hotel room amenities by 2022.
