Wednesday, January 24, 2024

The esteemed team behind Edinburgh's Michelin-starred restaurant, Timberyard, has announced the launch of their latest venture, Montrose

Nestled in the historic Abbeyhill district, Montrose is housed within a building that dates back to the late 1800s, formerly known as Montrose House - one of Edinburgh's oldest public houses.

Since 2012, Montrose has been managed by the Radford family and their team, offering an intimate wine bar on the ground floor and a dining room upstairs, all conveniently located near Edinburgh's famous attractions such as Princes

Street, Palace of Holyrood, and Scottish Parliament.

At Montrose, menus reflect Timberyard's dedication to top-notch seasonal produce, featuring local sourcing of exotic game, unique breeds of cattle, foraged edibles, and organic produce.

The bustling wine bar provides space for up to 30 guests to enjoy a selection of European-inspired small plates and a great value three-course lunch menu. - The team

Diners can indulge in a streamlined four-course set menu featuring ingredient-led dishes or enjoy the European-inspired small plates in the bustling wine bar.

The Radford family remains involved in Montrose's daily operations, with head chefs James Murray and Moray Lamb leading the kitchen team and support from Jo Radford, Adam Bennett, and Murray McDougal handling front of house

duties.

Montrose continues Timberyard's commitment to sustainability by focusing on small wine producers who respect the land and their grapes, offering a capsule-free and 100% organic wine list with options in bottles, magnums, bag-in-box,

and canned wine.

Anna Sebelova manages Montrose's drink selection, which includes organic beer, spirits, homemade sodas, and cocktails.

At Montrose, Moray Lamb, its accomplished head chef, underscores the significance of procuring high-quality, seasonal ingredients, preparing them expertly, and adding just the right amount of seasoning.

Montrose operates Wednesday to Sunday for dinner service and Saturday and Sunday for lunch.
