The First Planning Application for a New Restaurant on Princes Street has Been Submitted

Tuesday, February 18, 2020

With a handful of months to go before the long awaited opening of the new St James centre in Edinburgh, a lot of people are wondering what will become of Princes Street as retailers such as Zara and New Look have confirmed their move from street to centre.

It has already been confirmed that there will be a new Premier Inn taking place in the former BHS building, and of course, the Johnnie Walker Experience on the West End.  But the first restaurant has been submitted for planning permission in New Look’s site at 121 Princes Street.

The proposals were submitted by LaSalle Investment Management for a new ‘Bar and Block’ dining experience on the ground floor of this location, along with accompanying investment being proposed to expand the Premier Inn hotel.

If the plans are approved by the council, this restaurant could be open towards the end of this year.
