The scheme, which has been developed by Scottish Tourism's Emergency Response Group (STERG) in partnership with businesses, includes holiday vouchers, discounts on trips and a marketing fund.

First Minister Nicola Jolie announced funding for the sector's recovery from the coronavirus pandemic in a speech to the Scotland Tourism Alliance conference.

STA chairman Marc Crothall said:"The £25 million support for Scotland's tourism industry which was announced by the First Minister at the STA Conference is a welcome boost for businesses as we move closer to what we hope will be a reopen date at the end of April.

A holiday-voucher mechanism which will create a more socially sustainable and inclusive tourism sector.

Creating an incentive-type programme to support activities and experiences of all kinds such as attractions, tours and activities

A talent-development and management programme for tourism and catering personnel.

Net zero approach to making Scotland's tourism sector greener and more sustainable

A marketing fund to support organisations promoting their destinations or its sector when domestic holiday activity re-starts.
