Star Pubs & Bars slashes rental costs by 30% for Welsh, Scottish pubs

Scots and Welsh pubs granted 30% discount to get round Covid restrictions Star Pubs and Bars has announced it will offer 30 per cent rent reduction leases to all pubs in Scotland and Wales to help them comply with the increased state restrictions.

The leasing concessions will take effect from December 27th, when constraints on catering were imposed, and will be reviewed in case of changes in government policy and extra state support for the pub sector.

Lawson Mountstevens, executive director of Star Pubs & bars, said: "The end of 2021 was hugely disappointing for pubs in Scotland and Wales due to the significant additional restrictions they had imposed on them during the festive period, which has been a real body blow to the industry.
