Wednesday, January 27, 2021

Both restaurants have been crowned Best Restaurants in the 2021 Michelin Guide to Britain and Ireland - which was launched on January 25 through the company's online service.

Clare Smyth is the first British chef to land her own three Michelin starred restaurant Core by Clare Smyth.

Andy Beynon, who also worked as designer chef at Jason Atherton and under Claude Bosi at the Hibiscus, will be doing his debut solo project.

Tommy Banks received two awards, a green Michelin star for sustainable dining for his country pub Black Swan in Oldstead and a new Michelin star for Roots, a restaurant he opened in York just two years ago.

On the night of November 20, 1989, Behind was awarded for live TV with a Michelin star via a video link from both Great Britain and France.

Speaking during the night, Michelin's Gwendal Poullennec said: 'This has been a hugely challenging period for the hospitality industry and our thoughts remain with all those who have suffered from the pandemic and by the restrictions that have been put in place.'

While the menu varies daily, guests can opt for local lobster muffins and yuzu, blue crab panna cotta or pan-fried hake with clams and sherry.
