One of Northern Ireland's most acclaimed hotels will hire 180 staff in anticipation of venues reopening, as lockdown restrictions are relaxed.

The company behind the Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort in Ballymena has said roles from chefs to bartenders, wellness therapists and managers, furnishings workers, housekeepers, drivers and night porters will help cover expected demand when it reopens in the coming months.

Mr Galgorm, who owns the Galgorm Spa and Golf Resort near Ballymena, Café Parisien and Fratelli's, Belfast, and the Rabbit Hotel at Templepatrick, said the move would boost the number of staff by 25 per cent to 900.

A further 26 team members have been recruited to further help open the latest venture of the Galgorm Collection, The Rabbit Hotel at Templepatrick.

The move says the new roles represent a £5m-a-year investment in pay.

In Belfast, 60 new team members will join two restaurants in Galgorm city centre: the iconic "Café Parisien" at the former Robinson & Cleaver, with unmatched views of Belfast Town Hall, and the family-friendly Fratelli's eatery located on Great Victoria Street.

Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort will hire a further 94 staff members to improve its accommodation, wellness and restaurant environment and expand its team of 720.
