A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A KITCHEN PORTER @ RAMADA BY WYNDHAM BELFAST

What you'll be doing...

Reporting to the Head Chef, you can expect your working day to include the following.

  • Ensure basic cleaning jobs are carried out as quickly as possible.
  • Collect and wash up pots and pans.
  • Clean food preparation areas and equipment, in addition to crockery and cutlery.
  • Unload food and equipment deliveries.
  • Keep the storeroom organised.
  • Keep work surfaces, walls and floors clean and sanitised.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

To succeed in the role of kitchen porter, you will need the following qualities and skills.

  • Basic food preparation skills such as vegetable preparation
  • Understanding of kitchen equipment
  • Understanding of cleaning kitchen equipment
  • Understanding of cleaning kitchen areas and surfaces
  • Ability to prepare and clear food service
  • Knowledge of kitchen health and safety (though we can train you on this)
  • Knowledge of food hygiene practices (though we can train you on this)
  • Attention to detail
  • Positive and approachable manner
  • Team player qualities
