The Place:

Our client is an established family run business near the city centre of Glasgow looking to add to its growing finance team with a finance assistant to support with the maintenance of financial reports and data alongside any other finance admin tasks required.

 

The Job:

The role of finance assistant is to ensure that all external and internal customers receive an efficient service from the finance team. You will be responsible for:

  • Process and code purchase invoices to the accounting system.
  • Match delivery notes to invoices, investigating discrepancies.
  • Manage bank payments and receipts, including direct debits.
  • Create weekly/monthly supplier payment runs.
  • Check supplier statements, liaise for missing invoices.
  • Reconcile revenue payment streams and manage cash payments.
  • Monitor and follow up on overdue payments.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations for all accounts.
  • Process credit card transactions and journals.

 

The Person:

This role is an excellent opportunity for a current finance assistant looking to develop their skills and knowledge and gain the opportunity to grow into the Head of Finance role. You will have:

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Good knowledge of accounts/bookkeeping terminology.
  • Experience of accounting systems such as; Sage, Xero, Quickbooks, SAP, Exchequer, NetSuite.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Accounting qualification or working towards one (AAT/ICB or similar) is an advantage.
  • Strong team player with a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and manage workload effectively.
