Recognised cook Paul Kitching has been receiving tributes from across the gastronomical world following his sudden death.

Katie wrote: 'Dear Friends, it is with a heavy heart that I am writing to inform you that I have lost my dear Paul, who sadly passed away yesterday.

"Devastating news, a true original and a lovely man. He flew the gastronomic flag for Greater Manchester for so long." Thom Hetherington

"This is awful news I'm so so sorry. He was so kind to me when I needed an arm around me more than ever. He was one in a million & a genius too. So so sorry for your loss." Gary Usher

Tom Kerridge commented on some crying face emoji, with Gary Usher, proprietor of Elite Bistros restaurant group, commenting on Twitter: "This is awful news I'm so so sorry. He was so kind to me when I needed an arm around me more than ever."

The Restaurant operated by the renowned Chef Michael Riemenschneider was designed to survive for a short period in 2008, but in February 2009 the Restaurant was shut down for good.

In January 2010, the restaurant was awarded a Michelin Michelin star.
