Special K Advert Banned for Health Improving Claims

Thursday, March 7, 2019

Watchdogs banned a Kellogg’s Special K cereal advert for promoting over exaggerated claims about health benefits.  The advert begins with “made with Folic Acid – feeding development” followed with an image of a pregnant woman swimming, which tries to suggest that this cereal will improve the health of those who are going through their pregnancies.

The advertisement continues, claiming that the cereal will feed strength, energy and recovery because of specific ingredients.

Kellogg’s bosses say that they are saddened by this decision to remove their adverts as they believe it is helpful and does improve health in some ways.
