Pret Update: Nobody Notified About the Passing for Nine Months

The Pret a Manger story seems to have yet another chapter to it, but will this information finally end the months of press and worry and concern?

It has been said that Tim Smith, former Food Standards Agency’s chief executive, and chair of Pret’s food advisory panel, wasn’t notified of the heart breaking incident for nine months, describing the delayed reveal as being “completely unacceptable”.

Smith had called enquiring for a compulsory register of allergen related deaths and incidents after the unfortunate death of 15 year old Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, who died after the purchase of a Pret product in Heathrow Airport in 2016, which raised the concern that the company’s allergen labels to be inadequate.

During the amendments of the labels, it is said that the customers have received the changes well in the trials and the labels will be released and rolled out everywhere.  They became aware of the concerns and made the changes so that customers can trust that they can eat there knowing that the information is correct.
