Pret to Roll Out Complete Allergen Label this Week

Tuesday, September 24, 2019

By the end of this week, all 391 UK Pret a Manger stores will be introduced to the new fill ingredient labels, following the launch of its new Allergy Plan in May.  This came from the inquest into the death of a young girl in 2016 having had one of the chain’s baguettes.

Following a successful trial in two London stores, the plan will be rolled out across the UK, labelling freshly made items a full list of ingredients and 14 major allergens like milk and egg printed in bold writing.

The team at Pret will also use recipe cards to prepare foods and print off labels accordingly, whilst tablets record each item that leaves the kitchen.
