Plant-Based Restaurant Opening in Leicester

Tuesday, May 7, 2019

A new vegan restaurant has opened in the Oadby district, Leicester, by Chef Bindu Patel.  The restaurant, Sanctua, was initially to open in January but with refurbishments taking longer than anticipated but has finally opened its doors as of the 30th of April.

The 40-cover restaurant serves a completely plant-based menu, and is inspired by the ancient Indian medical system of Ayurvedic; where it was said that food was seen as medicine.  Some of the dishes will consist of smoked seaweed, pies made with lentils, mushroom and spinach and sorbets that include the likes of chilli and lime.

The intention isn’t to go on about lifestyles and animals, it is solely focussed on the love we share for the art behind these meals and a shared love for cooking.
