Hospitality Industry at an 18-Month High

Tuesday, December 17, 2019

Despite Brexit uncertainties, the eating and drinking-out market has risen to its highest point in 18 months according to a Business Confidence survey from CGA and Fourth.

Results have found that 44% of business leaders in the hospitality sector are optimistic about 2020, this figure is up on last quarters figure of 30%.  64% of leaders are now reporting confidence in their business future, which is up from 58% of people last quarter (the lowest point since the end of 2017).

However, the figures are still lagging behind pre-Brexit talks in 2016, showing that though the industry has survived, and thrived, the EU referendum still causes issues for the sector and its workers.  This comes from the figures in 2015 showing that 93% of leaders were confident about the sector, and 91% were optimistic about the future of their business.
