Hilton DoubleTree Spreading the Christmas Kindness this Year

Thursday, December 20, 2018

Following the cancellation of a charity booking by Britannia Hotels’ Royal Hotel Hull, DoubleTree by Hilton Hull has kindly offered to donate meals and accommodation to 28 homeless people over the festive period.

Doubletree by Hilton hotel put up the group free of charge after seeing the Britannia hotel taking and then cancelling a heart-warming booking made by the Raise the Roof Homeless Project in Hull.

The cancellation was caused by reports complaining about the group during a stay at the ibis hotel last year, but tried to take the booking back if they followed the hotels newly stated conditions.  The Raise the Roof group declined this offer, as they felt it to be unfair to only be reinstated if conditions were accepted.  Luckily, Doubletree offered a two night stay for the group of 28 people and have offered a complimentary breakfast and Christmas dinner.

A spokesperson for Hilton said: “We’re pleased to be able to bring our signature hospitality to the Raise the Roof Homeless Project by accommodating the guests at DoubleTree by Hilton Hull. Making a positive contribution to our community is fundamental to our business, and we hope to make our guests’ stay truly memorable this Christmas.”

Both the charity and Ibis hotels confirmed that the stay last year was problem free.
