Gleneagles Hotel closed its doors on a Friday 13 November, as Perth and Kinross has been upgraded to step three of the Covid 19 restrictions.

Gleneagles' Conor O' Leary: After the Scottish Government announced plans to move Perth and Kinross to Protect Level Three National Limitation System coronavirus, we have taken the very difficult decision to temporarily shut down Gleneagles for the second time this year, from Friday November 13, including Sunday January 31.

Perth and Kinross has been lifted to category three status from Friday, as the number of coronavirus-positive cases in the region has shot up nearly 33 per cent.

Marc Crothall, chief executive of the Scottish Tourism Alliance, said: "I am not taken aback by the news of Gleneagles" closures until February.
