Diageo Learning for Life provides support to bartenders

Diageo has revamped its award-winning bartender and Hospitality Training program Learning for Life, to help the sector and its beleaguered staff cope with the continuing Coronavirus epidemic.

Learning for Life is being resurrected as a virtual learning scheme to provide skills training and support to UK pubs and bars dealing with pandemic conditions.

This comes on top of Diageo's Raising the Bar programme, which is already pumping £30m into the UK hospitality industry to support safety infrastructure including hand disinfectors and personal protective gear to staff.

The Diageo Learning for Life: Hospitality Elevator virtual programme offered by Diageo's training partners in hospitality Springboard was created to provide companies developing and involving their teams, including those in the field, with advanced training.

Springboard national head of employability, Inga McVicar said: "As the hospitality sector responds to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and new guidance comes into place, staff training is more important than ever. Developed to enhance skills development in hospitality throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the Hospitality Elevator course offers participants the opportunity to gain the most recent and up to date skills and qualifications while also improving their confidence.
