Dad, 41 spends £20,000 creating 'secret underground 'bunker bar

Father-of-two Jody Wainwright and his family were just finishing their own home when he decided to create an underground shack out of the remaining materials.

The bar with the left over materials also has a widescreen TV that can be used as a family cinema to watch movies, and a folding picture screen from the ceiling that he uses for sports broadcasting. Jody Wainright says his family loves a secret bunker bar as much as he does - despite his wife not being a huge fan of the days he spends in the pub watching football. Wainright said one of the major difficulties in building the bar is keeping water out and ensuring Jody's garden overhangs.

To save space in the garden an underground bar doubles as a movie theater, where Jody and his family love filming, as there is a widescreen TV on one side of the room. Jody, who hails from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, also had a couple of the sofas at the ready by herself for comfort, with a table at the centre in case they wished to indulge in a pub meal.
