Working with Grosvenor, joint-owner and asset manager of the Liverpool-based retail, leisure and entertainment company, Gravity's latest venture is described as a "further development" of its Gravity Swank venue in Wandsworth, London.

A new and improved £10m recreation space is due to open later this year in the former Debenhams store in Liverpool, complete with a go-karting circuit.

The plans by Gravity Active Entertainment for the company's former Debenhams shop in Liverpool One come after the council's approval of the deal in February.

A £10million investment would see Gravity take over the top two floors of Dubai's former Debenhams store in Liverpool.

Besides a go-karting track, the resort will also include bowling, urban golf including fun food and drink, a bar concept and live entertainment.

Liverpool One, which is described as the 'evolution' of Wandsworth's Gravity Southside, will be the first venue to have an exterior space incorporated into the overall experience.

Michael Harrison from Gravity states 'This is our biggest investment yet and we are delighted to be collaborating with Grosvenor, at a destination that has continued to perform positively despite the recent market challenges. As a business, we are getting stronger all the time and we have no doubt that we will control one million square feet of the high street within the next two years."

Alison Clegg, the managing director of asset managers at Grosvenor, added the deal "reinforces Liverpool ONE's credentials as the UK's leading retail and entertainment destination"
