A DAY IN THE LIFE OF OF THE RECEPTION MANAGER AT THE IMPERIAL HOTEL BLACKPOOL

What you'll be doing...

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you can expect your working day to include the following:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the reception area, including check-in, check-out, and guest inquiries.
  • Lead and motivate the reception team, providing training, guidance, and support as needed.
  • Ensure all guest interactions are handled with warmth, professionalism, and efficiency, exceeding their expectations at every opportunity.
  • Monitor room availability and work closely with housekeeping and reservations to optimize occupancy and guest satisfaction.
  • Handle guest complaints and concerns promptly and effectively, resolving issues to the guest's satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records, including guest profiles, reservations, and financial transactions.
  • Implement and enforce hotel policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate guest services and enhance the overall guest experience.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

To succeed in the role of Reception Manager, you will need the following qualities and skills:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a hotel environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a genuine desire to create memorable experiences for guests.
  • Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Proven organizational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
