Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, creative and passionate PR Lead to join our Commercial Team on a part time basis, three days a week. This new and exciting role will be responsible for the planning and implementing of the public relations strategy for Apex Hotels and its sub brands, working closely with the Marketing Manager to ensure plans align with core marketing activity and support business objectives. The PR Lead will build relationships with key media outlets, looking for the newsworthy angle to capture prospective customer interest from both industry and company specific news stories and nurture third party promotional opportunities.

Specific Tasks

This role is a varied position and responsibilities will include:

  • Driving the continuous improvement of content and key messages for Apex Hotels and its sub-brands
  • Creating and sourcing engaging and shareable content to be posted across social media and other digital channels
  • Creating, building, testing and sending emails as well as performance reporting
  • Day to day management and responsibility of social media channels including scoping, creating, scheduling, monitoring, and evaluating content, and engaging with customers
  • Using listening and research tools to obtain insight and aid content strategy development
  • Keeping on top of consumer trends and maximizing opportunities for content creation
  • Updating and managing content on online listings
  • Coordination of activity, supporting the marketing team to ensure content deadlines are met
  • Collaboration with key stakeholders including a PR agency

Key skills/Entry requirements

  • 5 years or more experience of working with PR for premium brands (in-house or agency)
  • A strong track record in delivering innovative PR campaigns with an intuitive grasp and understanding of how to maximise engagement and cultivate opportunities
  • Existing relationships with both press and media contacts
  • Experience in strategy, timelines, budgets, and reporting with the ability to work to and set clear KPI's
  • Strong awareness of the ever-changing media landscapes as well as knowledge of both emerging and established influencer talent
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Excellent research, copywriting and proof-reading skills
  • Creative mindset that can take content from brief to delivery
  • Great organisational skills, the ability to multitask and work to tight deadlines
  • A genuine passion for the tourism industry and an interest in travel
  • Experience in a similar role
