Here at Jurys Inn & Leonardo Hotels we have an absolutely wonderful opportunity for a Meeting & Events Sales  Manager to manage both the meetings and events team and department.

The Meeting & Events Sales Manager will drive sales performance within their assigned cluster of hotels, with a primary focus on the Meetings & Events markets as directed by the Meeting & Events Sales Director. This role covers all our London Hotels so the base is flexible in London

Responsible for managing an existing portfolio of accounts and driving of new business in line with hotel/s strategies and budgets. Delivery of assigned KPI's through the delivery of strategic and measurable sales actions, throughout the Cluster, Region and UK & Ireland.

Part of the UK Sales Team reporting into the M&E Sales Director, the Meeting & Events Sales Manager will be the key sales point of contact for their hotels. The Meeting & Events Sales Manager will work closely with the hotel M&E Teams to support the conversion of critical bookings, lapsed/ lost business, repeat events and new business whilst providing customer and market intelligence.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong internal stakeholder relationships at all levels within and outside of the sales function as required.
  • Working closely with the M&E Team to support conversion of critical bookings, recover lapsed and lost business and support repeat event re-booking
  • Engage with the National Sales Team to drive our Local, National and Global agent engagement with Fam Trips and presentations to drive share
  • Participate in and represent Jurys Inn at industry events where appropriate.
  • Prepare and deliver key sales performance, activity and account updates on a regular and ad hoc basis for key stakeholders.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the local hotel M&E markets based on intelligence and knowledge of competitor activity and rates, resulting in increased revenue generation through focused sales activities for Local and National Accounts.
  • Ensure we maintain and grow revenue and market share via existing and new customers, developing a network of contacts to help to cross sell the group.
  • Qualify new accounts.
  • Conduct quality show round with both managed and non-managed customer to support conversion.
  • Plan and attend Fam Trips with M&E agents.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximise profits.
  • Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g. monthly sales results and annual forecasts).
  • Produce accurate and timely, weekly, monthly and annual reporting that meets the needs of M&E Sales Director.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting process for the M&E segments, by providing accurate updates on managed accounts and bookings.
  • Complete and execute assigned actions within the M&E sales activity plans, review and update in line with strategy and hotel business needs.
  • As directed by the Meeting & Events Sales Director, complete M&E RFP's both local and national ensuring all stakeholders are consulted during negotiations.
  • Managing a portfolio of local M&E accounts whilst supporting the delivery of National M&E Accounts into the hotels.  
  • Achieve weekly appointment KPI.
  • Using data and market research conduct telesales and campaigns to generate demand for the hotels.
  • Support the conversion of critical M&E Enquiries
  • Provide customer and market updates to support pricing and strategy decisions to drive conversion
  • Maintain an up-to-date new business pipeline of target accounts through local research and intelligence.
  • Ensure the use of the CRM system, is in line with the minimum standard of use for self and team as required.
  • Attend any Jurys Inns Team Meetings, Sales Meetings, Blitzes and Events as requested.

To succeed in this role, you'll need to be a pro-active self-starter who is able to proactively drive business, maintain or grow market share from existing accounts and delivery of any potential new business demand. There will be a significant reliance on the individual to understand and analyse data to identify opportunities for new business wins. In addition, the role requires:

  • Experience of working in a large team and high levels of stakeholder engagement
  • Driving sales results in a fast moving, challenging and multi-channel environment.
  • Effective selling skills.
  • Excellent communications and relationship building skills.
  • Ambitious and driven, with a good understanding of the M&E market.

  • Strong background in commercial negotiations to secure additional revenue generation.
  • The ability to present our brands in a compelling manner to influence new business acquisition.
  • Commercially aware, numerate and the ability to identify opportunities.
