The Exciting Opportunity

We have commenced our search for an experienced Kitchen Assistant/Porter at the Hampton by Hilton Manchester Northern Quarter - a 3-star focused service 221-bedroom hotel which opened November 2020.

Our ideal candidate will have a passion for working with people and food and be versatile in their role in providing breakfast, lunch or evening meals to our guests, whilst creating a great hotel experience where our guests can relax and be themselves.

You will be responsible for supporting the Chefs and the Restaurant staff by making sure that there is always clean equipment available and that the kitchen is a safe and hygienic place to work. You will be well versed in food hygiene and handling, having knowledge of food safety and storage, To ensure all orders are delivered on time and of a high standard. The successful applicant for this role will deliver excellent customer service, have a positive can do' attitude, be willing to learn and show that they care. You must be a team player.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be polite, professional and friendly at all times to customers and colleagues
  • Ensure the highest level of customer care is adhered to at all times
  • Demonstrate a can-do attitude towards customers and strive to exceed customer expectations
  • Flexible working is required dependant on the business needs
  • Maintain a professional image and adhering to personal hygiene
  • To tidy, clean and maintain all crockery, pots & pans, cutlery and other kitchen equipment
  • To tidy and keep the staff canteen and cleared down after lunch and dinner services - this includes emptying the bin and ensuring the fridges and microwaves are clean
  • To prepare food to brand standards
  • Ensure exterior bins and refuse area is scrubbed and washed down as necessary - and also the hotels refuse area is left clear of clutter and boxes
  • To complete reasonable tasks as instructed by chefs and management which benefit the running of the Kitchen
  • Prepare food to Hilton Brand Standards
  • Ensure all standard checklists are used as prescribed

               ***Shift patterns may include early morning starts, late evening finishes

                                                        & may include split shifts***

  • Part Time Hours may include the below in line with the business needs for example:

7.00-11.00, 7.00-12.00, 8.00-12.00, 8.00-13.00, 17.00-22.00, 17.30-22.30 or 18.00-23.00

  • Full Time Hours- Shifts patterns above or Early Shift' - 6.00-14.30 or Late Shift' - 14.00-22.30
