The Place
Xpress is working with this prestigious operation outside of Edinburgh in the glorious countryside of East Lothian which boasts excellent, high-quality facilities, accommodation and events seeks a superstar HR Manager in addition to this expanding management team.

The Job
Our client requires an HR Manager for their busy high profile property to ensure the quality and standards of service are consistently achieved and the staff that make this possible have a fluent employee journey whilst working with our client. You will - 

  • Support the business in developing an effective culture of learning, talent development and succession
  • Develop HR policy and procedures to drive performance and bring alignment between HR strategy and business goals.
  • Implement a learning and development policy.
  • Administer payroll and payroll records and keep accounts appraised of any changes.
  • Support the recruitment process – writing job descriptions, preparing interview questions and application forms, sitting in on interviews and providing advice on recruitment and selection strategies.
  • Carry out new employee onboarding inductions
  • Continuously monitor and review HR policies and processes and implement changes where necessary.
  • Undertaking exit interviews.
  • Provide advice and support to managers on employee-related matters, policies and procedures.
  • Create and implement a new appraisal solution across the team.
  • Managing the performance of current employees and driving employee engagement.
  • Follow up on performance concerns and disciplinary action with staff members including attending meetings, producing letters and formal documents
  • Provide support as the senior HR business partner in the organisation
  • Continually aim to up-skill managers in ensuring consistency and compliance in the handling of people-related issues.
  • Develop, oversee, assist and advise industry-standard policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
  • Promote the Benefits programme.

The Person
This role requires an experienced HR Manager from ideally a 5star boutique hotel-style background but this can be any style of operation. The suitable applicant will have a great presence an eye for detail and the ability to be professional yet friendly and create a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere for all that work here. You will also need to have a proven employment history in managing and training staff as well as good knowledge and understanding of HR functions.

You will have the passion and drive to make that difference.

The Rewards
Our client will offer the successful candidate a salary in the range of £40,000 - £45,000 plus the opportunity to work in an exclusive and highly prestigious environment.
