We have commenced our search for an experienced General Manager to lead the team at Wotton House. Reporting to the Divisional Director, you will have a strong focus on the delivery of exceptional guest care, as well as the commercial performance of the business. As General Manager you will develop your knowledge of the local market to achieve sales and maximise on revenue, managing occupancy, and driving growth in the food and beverage and events side of the business. You will be an ambassador for the guest journey and ensure values and service behaviours are delivered consistently in a professional and friendly environment. You will be responsible for directing and developing a current great team across all departments to achieve exceptional performance across the key indicators of profit, people, and RGI.
Wotton House is a 17th-century property with a long tradition of entertaining guests. Here, a mix of original features and 21st-century style set the tone so that all events are memorable: a wedding day like no other, business meetings that become an unexpected pleasure, training that delights and inspires. Dining is relaxed whether it is a meal in the 1877 Restaurant, or cocktails on our patio overlooking our beautiful grounds. The hotel boasts beautifully refurbished bedrooms and suites, 13 acres of stunning grounds, and a leisure club including swimming pool, gym, and tennis court. The property is located 15 minutes from J9 of the M25, with Gatwick Airport 40 minutes away and fast train connections direct into London Waterloo.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The ideal candidate will have successful management abilities in the hospitality industry. You should be comfortable prioritizing and organizing work commitments, while providing clear direction to your team and ascertaining hotel training needs when necessary. It is imperative that the General Manager can motivate their team while specializing in exceptional guest satisfaction. We are seeking someone focused, who can confidently enforce the excellence of hotel standards, policies, and procedures in accordance with Marriott and RBH.
- Excellent knowledge of the local market (preferred)
- Previous experience working within a similar property, with a focus on weddings, events, and conferencing
- Experience managing and coordinating a large, complex team
- A strong focus on F&B/C&B within a similar outlet
