Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasonal Head Chef to take on full responsibility for the cooking in this stunning property. The role of Head Chef is key to the successful delivery of the highest standards of hospitality at Kinloch Lodge, Sutherland and there are several key aspects to this role.


Preparation and service of breakfast, light lunch / packed lunch, afternoon tea and set 3 course dinner for small groups from 6-14 guests.

The Head Chef is expected to develop menus for guests and working closely with the WildLand Executive Chef. With a strong focus on the use of locally sourced ingredients, the aim is to capitalise on the abundant natural produce which is available.

Menus should be creative and interesting.Guests typically enjoy a taste of the traditional as well as an element of the more adventurous. There is scope for the Head Chef to exercise the complete range of their culinary skills.

Working on a seasonal basis, mid May to mid Nov on a full time basis, 5 days per week. Operating the kitchen solely with cover on days off.

The Head Chef is also expected to take responsibility for all aspects of Health & Safety and cleanliness, maintaining kitchen and storage areas in the best possible condition. This is a hands-on role and the appointee will be expected to undertake much of the cleaning themselves. Whilst the numbers being catered for are generally quite small, the kitchen should be managed in line with normal best practice in a commercial environment.

The position could also develop into a Full term position across other properties within the Wildland Hospitality portfolio.
