Job Description

To perform the role of Group Corporate Sales Director involves; leading the corporate sales team across the group to develop and retain existing negotiated client market share, whilst proactively securing new pipeline business and grow profitability through their individual sales performance. This role reports to the Group Director of Sales and has management responsibility for the Corporate Sales team. 

Role Purpose:

This is a proactive Sales role with a large percentage of time being spent managing the existing negotiated client base whilst seeking out new corporate partnerships and cultivating new business opportunities. Responsibilities include: 

  • Strengthens relationships with all key customers and uncovers additional opportunities within those accounts to increase penetration and maximise profit i.e. F&B and M&E opportunities
  • Understands the geographical competitive landscape and Apex's position within that spectrum for our accounts, and then implements tactics to shift share
  • Generates corporate revenue growth using a consultative selling approach to maintain and expand relationships with the large national and multi-regional accounts
  • Leads effective team selling efforts to translate our corporate agreements into actualised business at the local level.
  • Supports the Group Director of Sales with the strategic relationship of the group's consortia partners maximizing market share and ancillary revenues
  • To research, identify and establish new business sales contacts, develop relationships and distribution opportunities from existing consortia programs and partners
  • To maintain a in depth knowledge of corporate travellers of respective negotiated accounts, and work with the Group Director of Sales to create bespoke offerings and work with the operational teams to personalise these interactions
  • Has the ability to drive customer negotiations on business dimensions other than in price
  • Creates and delivers strong customer presentations to demonstrate the Apex value proposition and benefits it provides to our corporate customers
  • Leads the annual rate negotiation analysis, strategy proposal and contracting for identified corporate accounts including market share
  • Ensures Commercial team have correct information for all rate loading and that regular rate audits are carried out
  • Manage Rate and RFP sheets up to date following client negotiations
  • Creation and fulfilment of Account Development plans for key accounts
  • Own the sales lead generation, research and conversion for the corporate market segment
  • Plan and execute sales activity including research, telesales, site/hotel show rounds, entertaining and client road shows
  • Ownership of the company Corporate Sales Budget and fulfilment of sales activity plan
  • Attend relevant and appropriate networking events and ensure follow up is done post event
  • Efficient use of property management system to manage accounts and activities
  • Assist and support with ad hoc projects as required by the Group Director of Sales

Key Skills / Entry Requirement:

  • Validated multi property experience in the specific corporate and consortia sales areas
  • Highly experienced in all administrative skills with excellent attention to detail and organisation skills
  • Proactive at meeting deadlines and targets
  • Manages all resources within budgeted guidelines
  • Highly numerate and able to work comprehensively with spreadsheets & budgeting processes
  • Motivational team manager who can communicate well at all levels
  • Flexibility to regularly facilitate the entertainment of corporate client and familiarisation trips
  • Experience of international travel to key corporate offices and emerging business markets
  • Ability to fulfil regular regional travel across all geographical areas of the portfolio will be required
