The Place


Xpress are delighted to be working with an outstanding group of small boutique Hotel’s based predominately within the Highlands and Island of Scotland. Owing to new recent multi-million-pound investment our client is now looking to recruit a Hotel Area Operations Manager to support one of the Directors as they look to expand and develop their group of properties and established themselves for supplying all guests with an outstanding accommodation, great food and outstanding spirits, beers and wines which they believe through additional resource and investment they can help fuel their already existing high-quality reputation based within the Highlands and Islands.

With this new senior management appointment, it is all around making sure as a local employer we are working with local suppliers to provide outstanding locally sources fresh sea and land produce all with 25 miles of each of their hotels. The Hotels themselves are all set within idyllic locations and zig zag within the world-famous North Coast 500 road touring route of the Highland and island of Scotland


The Job

As Area Operations Manager you will report into the Director of Group Operations. You must be based within the Highlands and Island of Scotland and ideally have an existing local knowledge of the geography. As AOM you will be fully responsible for working with the current General Managers and teams to focus in on all areas of revenue and how we can improve all areas of quality, performance, and service. The AOM will be responsible for working to group Costs and Budgets and will be fully responsible for developing with each of the sites GM’s training and development plans for all team members as well as looking at how the group uses all its key resources within the group to help maximise productivity and profitability


The Person

Working in a rural community will not be every person’s cup of tea ! Hence why our client ideal would like to appoint someone who perhaps is working locally understand roads, weather conditions within the highlands along as well as the local people and culture within the Highlands and Islands hospitality, leisure and Tourism sector.

Our client is looking to appoint perhaps an existing Hotel General Manager who has been working in a smaller capacity has perhaps won a few accolades for their properties service or people development and ideal would like to stay local However take that next step up in their leadership development. As AOM you must be able to bring a creditable and robust background to the table as you will be working closely with existing GM’s who are on the top of their game ! On the other hand, you might well be that person and you have owing to career progression have moved out with the Highlands and Island and now during the last 2 years of Covid have re evaluated life and location and a job like this would be a great personal or family move


The Rewards
