Job Description

Working as part of a small team the Accounts Assistant will play a key role in ensuring that transactional deadlines and tight financial controls are maintained. The role will cover a varied workload, working closely with the Accounts Payable Assistant and Credit Control Manager. Operating as part of a busy and supportive team, the successful candidate will demonstrate a flexible approach to tasks which may encompass more general finance requirements.

Role Purpose:

  • Purchase ledger processing and checks
  • Preparing payment runs
  • Checking and processing of supplier statement reconciliations
  • Supporting in the resolution of supplier queries
  • Performing daily reconciliations of the purchase ledger
  • Administration of the Accounts Payable Inbox
  • Supporting in the processing and reconciliation of credit card expenses
  • Sales ledger processing and checks
  • Processing customer payment allocations
  • Supporting on customer account queries
  • Performing daily reconciliations of the sales ledgers
  • Supporting the Credit Control Manager on credit control procedures and debt recovery
  • Assisting with ad hoc finance administration

Key Skills / Entry Requirement:

  • Can demonstrate good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Previous Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience
  • It would be advantageous to have knowledge of Sage and HMS Infor
